Makkaratehdas

This former sausage factory in Helsinki was housing a flea market before it was turned into an apartment. The space was refurbished using simple but durable materials such as lye treated pine wood planks for the floor, plywood for the build in cabinetry and stainless steel for the kitchen table tops. The master bedroom is separated from the living area by thick woollen curtains. A huge old mechanical elevator and the old factory windows still remain in the space as memories of its past.
