Sumatra

Peeking from behind the rocky peninsula in Hiittinen archipelago, Sumatra is a sauna and a guesthouse, united under one roof. The steam room is separated from the guest room, which also doubles as a dressing room.  An old pine tree used to hold up a bucket shower protrudes through a hole in the larch board roof. From the sauna, views open up towards the sea, the path to the sauna and the pier used to go dip in the water in between bathing. The windows are covered with teak blinds to block unwanted reflections towards the sea.
